Lagos State Speaker involved in adultery scandal

Lagos State speaker, Adeyemi Ikuforiji had more than what he bargained for last week when he was highly embarrassed by a staff’s husband, Mr Ogundele at the Lagos State House of Assembly.

Sources said the woman’s husband, said to be a member of the protocol team, accused the Lagos speaker of having an ‘extra marital affair’ with his wife, Mrs Ogundele.
He was said to have stormed the speaker’s office and demanded the number three citizen of Lagos state stay off his heartthrob.

Insiders revealed security detail and other stake holders around quickly moved in to contain the situation.
It was revealed a pre-emptive measure to forestall the spread of the development was equally employed.

Break News:Oscar Pistorius granted bail

Magistrate Desmond Nair has granted bail to Oscar Pistorius. These were the judge’s main reasons:
• He did not think Pistorius was a flight risk.
• He did not think the prosecution had shown that Pistorius had a propensity for violence.
• He did not think the prosecution had shown their would be public outrage if he were released on bail.
• He did not think the prosecution’s case was so strong that Pistorius’s only reasonable reaction were he released would be to flee.
But he also pointed out holes in Pistorius’s story which may prove important when the case comes to trial:
• Why did he not ascertain Steenkamp's wherabouts?
• Why did he not verify who was in the toilet?
• Why did Steenkamp not scream back from the toilet?
• Why did the deceased and the accused not escape through the bedroom door rather than venture into the toilet?
• Why would the accused venture into danger knowing the intruder was in the toilet, leaving himself open to attack? He returned to the dangerous area. What if the intruder was waiting for him?
And he said he had difficulty with the defence's version of why the accused slept on the other side of the bed from usual that night.

Keshi issues World Cup warning

Coach Stephen Keshi has said that his all-conquering Super Eagles side were going to be the target of all African teams when the second round of qualifying race for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil resumes next month.

The Super Eagles returned to the summit of African football a fortnight ago, when the team defeated Burkina Faso 1-0 in the final of the 29th edition of the Africa Cup of Nations, at a packed National Stadium in Johannesburg.


It was the team’s third taste of soccer glory after previous wins in 1994 and 1980. More remarkably was that the victory in South Africa came as a huge surprise given that the team was not amongst the top five favourites to win the trophy.

UNILAG name change: Jonathan makes u-turn, the name UNILAG remains

President Goodluck Jonathan has reversed the change of name of the University of Lagos which he renamed Moshood Abiola University in a broadcast to mark the 2012 Democracy Day.

Chairman, Governing Council of University of Lagos, Professor Jerry Gana disclosed this yesterday in Abuja during his inauguration alongside three others by the Minister of Education, Professor Ruqayyatu Rufai


The name change had been the subject of litigation and protests from students and alumni of the institution while a court recently ruled that the change was illegal.

Gana who hailed President Jonathan for retaining the name of the institution. said the president had upheld the Constitution by reversing the change of name of the university.
“This is a pointer to the fact that the current administration is committed to entrenching democracy and justice in the country.’’

Mum faces jail term for hiring strippers for 16yr old son's birthday party

Fans of MTV's My Super Sweet 16 are used to tales of outrageous parties being thrown for American teens, but a New York mother has taken the outrage up a gear (and to the attention of the NYPD) by hiring strippers for her 16-year-old son's birthday.

Judy Viger hired two strippers to entertain her son and his guests, some of whom were as young as 13, in a private room at the Spare Time Bowling Center.

Pictures of the party found their way on to Facebook and the mother of a 15-year-old alerted the police, who arrested Viger and charged her with five counts of endangering the welfare of a child. She now faces a year in jail.

The age of consent in New York is 17, and the state's law decrees that any parent or guardian of children under 18 who "fails or refuses to exercise reasonable diligence" can be prosecuted.

Pastor nabbed over alleged rape of 12-yr-old housemaid

Members of the outlawed Odua Peoples Congress, OPC, in Abeokuta, yesterday, arrested a Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG, pastor for allegedly raping a 12-year old housemaid.

Vanguard gathered that the pastor, who was an interpreter with the church committed the crime in his home at 6, Shamusideen, Oke-Sokori area of the town while his wife was away.
Luck,  however, ran against the randy pastor when the girl reported the incident to her parents, which prompted his arrest.

Nigerian Embassy Denies Goldie's Husband Visa

The late Nigerian singer Goldie Harvey's husband, Andrew Harvey who planned to visit Nigeria over the weekend for the burial ceremony of his late wife has been denied a visa.

According to a source in London, the Malaysia-based engineer was denied a visa by the Nigerian High Commission in London two days ago.

Mr. Harvey's visa application was refused for ineligibility.

However, the British Engineer who got married to the late former Big Brother StarGame housemate in 2005, plans to re-apply at a different embassy in a bid to make it in time for the funeral. 

Life and time of Late Justus Esiri

Legendary actor, Justus Esiri, died suddenly Tuesday night, throwing the entertainment industry into mourning. He was 71 years. His death was preceded by the death of Lugard Onoyemu and songstress Goldie Harvey.
Esiri, 71, reportedly died of complications resulting from diabetes at an undisclosed  hospital in Lagos.
The president of Actors Guild of Nigeria, AGN, Miss Ibinabo Fiberesima confirmed the death of Esiri in a statement she made available to Vanguard.

Ibinabo said: “We regret to announce the passing away of our member and veteran actor, Justus Esiri who died last night (Tuesday). He was said to have died of complications resulting from diabetes at a hospital in Lagos.”

The latest in the 'series' is the emergence of a certain Ifeoma Harvey, who in the last few weeks made damning allegations on Facebook that Goldie Harvey, stole her husband(Andrew Harvey).

In a post on Monday, Ifeoma, who claims she was once married to Harvey and has kids, took to her Facebook page to issue a stern warning.

Popular actor, Richard Mofe Damijo is allegedly in some money mess – he has been accused of embezzling N50million


The acting General Manager of Delta State Tourism Board, Philo Nkem Ajufo, has been detained by the EFCC in Abuja for conniving with her boss, Richard Mofe Damijo (RMD is the commissioner in charge of the ministry), to embezzle N50 million from the state Ministry of Culture and Tourism.
It was learned that Mr. Mofe Damijo issued a check to the tourism board in the name of its acting GM, Ms. Ajufo. She in turn reportedly deposited the sum into her First Bank private account with account number (3006131619) operated under her name, Nkem Philo Ajufo…(she and Mr. Mofe Damijo subsequently shared the money.)

An EFCC source who confirmed Ms. Ajufo’s arrest said “As we talk, the Delta State Tourism GM, one Mrs. Nkem Ajufo, is been held in our headquarters here in Abuja over her involvement in the N50 million fraud. Her boss, Mr. Richard Mofe Damijo, is not left out….”
Meanwhile, Mr. Mofe Damijo has denied knowledge of the money during the budget defense exercise but he is yet to appear before the EFCC,
 Saharareporters reports.

Osaze Odemwingie attacks Keshi again on Twitter?

Osaze Odemwingie has taken some time to vent on the social media network, Twitter, in tweets which appeared to be directed at Super Eagles coach, Stephen Keshi.
He also used the opportunity to explain his disagreement with former Super Eagles player and coach, Samson Siasia.

The striker, who was dropped from the African Cup of Nations (AFCON) gold winning Super Eagles team, explained their difference saying it was due to his club commitment.
He, however, appeared to taunt the current Super Eagles coach, Stephen Keshi, when he insinuated that a successful coach’s job is temporary.

“…a coach the country is praising now will one day be sacked and to his achievements they ll say: only one cup ? I beg,” he tweeted.

How Wizkid was turned into a cash cow by Banky W

Information according to Leadership Newspaper: Facts have begun to emerge regarding the real story behind Wizkid and Banky is fallout. The reason is not unconnected with the rising sensational singer being made a cash cow for the EME label. An Insider opened up to Entertainment Rendezvous that Wizzy (his nickname) is at war with Banky W and EME because he wants a contract review which Banky W has refused to grant him.

The source pointed out that since Ayodeji Balogun known as Wizkid signed with EME, he has been getting just 25% from whatever he gets paid to perform at an event with Banky W. Empire Mate Entertainment EME is owned by Banky W and Segun Demuren and Segun and Osagie, Wizzy’s ex-manager who introduced him to Banky after big record labels like Mo-Hits and Storm records rejected him, also gets 25% each from his hard earned money.

“It is true they are having problems and this might just be the end of EME and Wizkid. When Wizzy signed a 2-year contract with EME late in 2009, he saw Banky as his messiah because he was nobody in the music industry. It was a 50-50 sharing formula.

Then Wizkid didn’t mind because he was bent on building his musical career. In his contract, Banky W promised to take care of his accommodation, feeding and also his school and based on this fact, Wizkid accepted all the terms of agreement. Later, Wizzy sacked his manager, Osagie replacing her with Godwin because he felt she was getting too much. Wizkid was getting just 25% from every show because Banky W would take 50% while Osagie was taking 25%.

Wizzy sacked Osagie because she was not ready to receive 10% which other management companies were taking from artistes. This development obviously did not go down well with Banky W but because Wizzy was close to the end of his contract with EME, Banky gave in. When Wizkid’s contract expired late last year, he wanted a contract review requesting the 50-50 sharing formula to be reviewed to 70-30 but Banky would not accept his proposal.

This issue had been dragging since September 2012 and that could have explained why Wizkid moved out of Banky’s Ogudu GRA residence and got a new apartment in Lekki. What got Wizzy miffed was that he was making all the money for EME and was getting less. Also, the money being made was being used to finance the project of other EME stars namely, Niyola, Skales and Shaydee.”

Apparently Wizkid’s international fame gave him more confidence to stand out on his own. Riding on this platform, he signed a management deal with Disturbing London, an international management company. Right now, his second Album is ready and it is with Banky W. Wizzy is bent on leaving if they don’t agree with his terms and float his own label STARBOI Records.

Banky W may not have given their side of the story but insiders noted that Banky has spent a lot to make Wizkid who he is now. He feels Wizkid is not grateful and has forgotten where he was coming from.

AUTOPSY REPORT REVEALS GOLDIE HARVEY DIED OF HYPERTENSION (PHOTO)

Report following the autopsy carried out after her sudden death at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, Ikeja, Lagos revealed that the Kennis Music star, suffered a terminal ‘hypertensive heart disease’ which resulted to’ intracerebellar haemorrhage.’

The autopsy carried out February 19, was signed by Dr. O.O Oyewole of the Department of Pathology and Forensic Medicine.

The burial arrangement for the former Big Brother Africa house mate will be announced by the family.

May her soul rest in peace.

Rapper Iceprince now dating Ghanaian actress Yvonne Nelson

Ghanaian actress Yvonne Nelson dated Iceprince sometime last year before ending things with him to date Iyanya.

Iceprince later met and started dating designer Yvonne Nwosu. Yvonne Nwosu declared today on her Twitter account that she was single again. A source told me it has something to do with Iceprince's rekindled love affair with Yvonne Nelson after starring in one of her movies recently. 

Veteran nollywood actor Justus Esiri passes on

Another tragedy has hit the movie industry, as legendary Nollywood actor, Justus Esiri, has died.
It was gathered that the actor, who is also the father to Mavins artiste, Dr. SID, lost the battle to diabetes caused by old age.

Esiri passed on some hours ago in an undisclosed hospital in Lagos and will widely be remembered for his role as headmaster in the series Village Headmaster, which aired on the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA).
He is survived by a wife, Omiete and six children.

Oscar Pistorius gives his account of the night he shot dead his GF

Oscar Pistorius appeared in court today and gave his account of what happened at his home the night he shot his girlfriend dead. 

He claimed he had been on the balcony of his house when he heard noises from the bathroom. Believing Reeva Steenkamp was asleep in bed, he grabbed his gun and shouted a warning before firing four shots through the door. It was only then, Pistorius claims that he realised Miss Steenkamp was not in bed.

'I kicked the door open,' he said  'I tried to help her but she died in my arms.'

Kenyan rapper and Goldie’s close pal, Prezzo has dismissed the media claims – where it was alleged that he had actually planned to propose to Goldie on Valentine’s day.
