Nollywood actress Susan Peters pulled a prank on us when she tweeted that Nigerian superstar D’banj proposed to Nollywood actress Genevieve Nnaji in the presence of Kanye West and Kim Kardashian. 

Apparently it was a prank. Susan admitted that she played an April fool on us in June.

Nice one Susan…I almost fell for it, but what of beautiful Ghanaian actress Nadia Buari. I thought people were speculating that she is dating D’banj right now (a rumour that was fuelled by Dbanj’s visit to the set of one of her movies).

 I see them topping Africa’s power couple list, if they ever get married.

Nigerian Man suspected of killing a 19year old Ghanaian girlfriend

26 year old unemployed Nigerian, Nathaniel Udama Adu, is in the grips of the Mile 7 Police in connection with the murder of a 19-year-old SHS leaver, Matilda Asante, believed to be his girlfriend, at Tantra Hills in Accra.

Detectives from the station were dispatched immediately after information got to the station at about 7:45am on Monday, June 18, 2012 that a dead body had been found at Tantra Hills.



The Mile 7 Police District Commander, DSP Peter Yembila, told DAILY GUIDE that when the police got to the scene, an uncompleted house, the body of a young female of about 19 years was found lying in a supine position covered with a bed sheet, while her legs and neck were tied.

Susie Q's Night club, SQ finally closes down 4 months after her death

Susan Yusuf's Club, SQ, has finally been closed down for good four months after her brutal murder. The club, located at Younis Bashorun Street, Victoria Island, was shut down this month following the new management's inability to renew their rent which expired a few months ago. The club lost most of its customers and spark after Susan's death. Susan ran the club all by herself when she was alive so there was really no one to continue from where she stopped.

Susan was stabbed to death at her 1000 flat on Friday February 10th 2012.

Veteran Nollywood actress Chinwe Owoh installs dicipline on movie set

It was a bad day for a young upcoming actress as she got what she may have never expected. It was reported that veteran actress of Hotel De Jordan TV soap opera of the 70′s, Chinwe Owoh slapped a younger actress on a movie set in Asaba, Delta state.

Chinwe was said to have slapped the upcoming actress for talking too much and also coming late on the movie set. The young actress reported to have later broke down in tears but was consoled by her other colleagues who witnessed the incident.

Forbes Lists Floyd Mayweather as the richest sports man in the world

Floyd Mayweather has overtaken Tiger Woods at the top of Forbes magazine's list of the 100 highest-paid sports personalities over the past year.

Boxer Mayweather, currently serving a three-month jail sentence for domestic assault, made $85m (£54.25m) - a figure bolstered by promoting his own fights.

Golfing legend Woods dropped to third having received $59.4m (£37.92m) with boxer Manny Pacquiao rising to second on earnings of $62m (£39.57m).

David Beckham is eighth on the list.

He is the highest paid footballer with earnings of $46m (£29.36m).

Surprisingly, Olympic champion and world record-holding sprinter Usain Bolt, who is the most high-profile star of London 2012, was only 63rd with $20.3m (£12.96m) - just a quarter of Mayweather's earnings.

Silverbird Management Counters the news going round about MBGN, Isabella Ayuk

It is customary for the Master of Ceremony to announce at the final of the annual Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria (MBGN) that “ the decision of whom to send as Nigeria's representative to any international pageant rests on the management of the organiser, the Silverbird Group.

So the story making the rounds that the current MBGN, Miss Isabella Ayuk was disqualified from vying at the finals of the Miss World beauty contest holding in Mongolia China according to Mr Guy Murray-Bruce “is not only untrue, but the handiwork of rumour mongers. Isabella Ayuk is still the Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria and at no point did we dethrone her. Isabella remains the winner of the MBGN and accordingly is expected to carry out her duties as queen until next year when another queen is chosen”

“Although she will not be vying for the Miss World title, she will be contesting for the Miss Universe crown, while

MBGN Second Runner up, Miss Ifeoma Umeokeke will be at the Miss Tourism International holding later in the year in China.
The decision to swap her role with that of the first runner-up Miss Diamette Charles Granville was taken by the organiser and it was taken in the collective interest of the company and the country”, Mr Bruce affirmed.
Still speaking on the issue, Mr Murray Bruce said “As we celebrate our 25th anniversary in the world of beauty pageantry, Its our wish not to only raise the bar but replicate the groundbreaking records achieved by Agbani Darego as the first Black Africa's Miss World 2001 as well as some past queens who have achieved remarkable results at some renowned international pageants in the recent past”.

“While we seek your understanding, we also urge you to pray for their victory at the various global beauty pageants where they will be flying the country's flag” Mr Bruce added.

The online media came during week with the news that Isabella Ayuk who was crowned MBGN in Benin, May, 2012 had been dropped from vying for the Miss World crown on the ground of age falsification.
According to the story, Silverbird, the organiser of the longest running beauty pageant in Nigeria had replaced the queen with her second runners up for fear of the queen being disqualified at the finals for exceeding the age limit of 26. 

Now who is fooling who? pls my people does this statement in anyway make sense to any of you, as far as am concerned, Silverbird hasn't given us any concrete reason why Miss Isabella Ayuk MBGN will not represent Nigeria in Miss world. I still believe there is more to this story and one day we will all hear it.

Nollywood Actress, Funke Akindele Al-Maroof, a.k.a Jennifer's Husband is expecting his sixth child

Gist reaching me says that Funke Akindele’s husband, Almaroof Oloyede, who reportedly denied that he was married before meeting Funke, is expecting a sixth child from one of his wives, Fadeke.

According to a story published by a Lagos soft-sell magazine, E24-7, Fadeke was reported to be pregnant with her second child for Almaroof. 

She was also reported to have been the woman saddled with the responsibility of taking care of the Almarrof’s other four children from his earlier romances with other women.

This pregnancy is said to be the second from her marriage with Almaroof as she already has one for him. 

Explaining where the first wife, Fadeke was during Funke Akindele’s controversial wedding to her hubby on May 26, 2012, the magazine reported that Fadeke was not in Nigeria at that time. This was because she was advised to travel to London or Dubai when the news of her man getting married to another woman, Funke got to her as a huge shock.

According to source close to Fadeke who confirmed this story to us. The source said that Almaroof humiliated Fadeke with the news of his wedding to Funke despite how she has been by his side.

For now, Funke and her husband, Almaroof are back in Nigeria and are said to be in their Lekki, Lagos home. The couple arrived Nigeria some days ago after being away in London shortly after their wedding.

Shamed Most Beautiful Girl Nigeria being rewarded for lying about her age

This is so sad, how can they do such thing, she lied to get where she is now, why allow her, a cheat to represent Nigeria in Miss Universe, she should be stripped of everything she falsely won and should  not be allowed to  participate in any beauty contest in Nigeria and anywhere in the world. That is to show how corrupt and wayward our society is, those organisers should have known better than let her continue how can they ever reward her for her Misdeeds, it's unheard of. This is why we have a long way to go in Nigeria. Everyday we point fingers and accuse  Goodluck Jonathan and his cabinet for messing Nigeria up and yet we forget that we the citizens still need to fulfil our own obligations. If Isabella Ayuk lives in the Western world and does a thing like this and then gets busted, the next thing she will do is to issue a public apology and immediately step down out of shame but no way, instead she will still be proud  to represent us at the Miss Universe Beauty contest, she is more like an Ambassador for Nigeria, now tell me, how can we have a liar and a cheat as an ambassador coupled with  the fact that they said she slept her way to the top. She is supposed to be a role Model for our kids, is this what they are going to learn from Isabella Ayuk and Silverbird ???.  I wonder what the international communities will be saying about Nigeria  at this moment, It is so shameful, I expect her to come out with a public apology and to step down for whomsoever the crown fits. Until then she is a big disgrace to the entire Nation.

Disturbing reports about controversies on the recently concluded Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria (MBGN) has gotten messier as the winner, Isabella Ayuk has been disqualified from contesting for the Miss World pageant.

An e-mail leaked to the media on the age cheat allegation that has trailed her since she was announced winner of MBGN.

This has made her to be rejected by the organisers of Miss World taking place in August in China this year. Silverbird Group, the organisers MBGN has come out to say their side of the story.

Microsoft unveils a tablet computer called Surface, to compete with Apples ipad

Microsoft has unveiled Surface, it's own version of tablet. The touchscreen computers will be powered by its upcoming Windows 8 system and contain either an Intel or ARM-based processor.

The company's chief executive, Steve Ballmer, said it had wanted to give the software "its own companion hardware".

However, the move puts it into competition with other manufacturers who will also be releasing tablets designed for the system.

The devices have a 10.6 inch (26.9cm) display, are 9.3mm (0.4 inches) thick, have a built-in kickstand and are housed in a magnesium case - which the company described as the first of its kind.
