As Gist has it, the woman was caught fornicating with another man and the husband decided to humiliate her in this way, I am not too sure that's what happened since the since there is no detail of where it happened. But if it actually did then I must confess the man must be a syco, if you actually think your wife has done wrong and you can't forgive her, why don't you just divorce her, must she be treated this way, she is human being and no matter what she does, deserve some respect.
