NIGERIAN left full back Taiye Taiwo has revealed that he finds the English Premiership so fast that he sometimes feels he is playing basketball.
Taiye, 27, who is currently playing for Queens Park Rangers (QPR) on loan from AC Milan, has had a good time in West London since arriving in the January transfer window this year. However, he added that Italian players who come to England generally find it hard to adapt.
However, for Taiye, the opposite appears to be the case as he had a torrid time in Milan since signing in May 2011 but has fitted in well at QPR. In Milan, he spent most of his time on the bench but Taiye has been a regular feature in West London.
Taiye even managed to score a goal with one of his trademark free kicks on March 24 in a 1-3 loss to Sunderland. Despite his settling in well, however, Taiye has the fight of his life on his hands as QPR are involved in a bitter relegation battle.
With only two games to go, QPR have 34 points with two do-or-die matches at home to Stoke City on May 6 and away to Manchester City on the last day of the season on May 13. Taiye has in the past said that he wants QPR to stay up so he remain with them.
When Taiye was brought in on loan, QPR had the option of signing him for £3.5m at the end of the season. If the club gets relegated though, it will not be able to afford such expense or to keep its high earners and Taiye will most likely be leaving back for Milan, who may either keep him or sell him on elsewhere.
