40 year old Charles Ikeji his now cooling off in prison custody after he confessed to an Upper Area Court in Gwagwalada that he indeed forcefully had carnal knowledge of his daughter and a house maid (both names withheld).

The Nigeria Police had on Wednesday arraigned Mr. Ikeji, a resident of Angwan Gude, in Kuje area Council of the Federal Capital Territory, on a count charge of raping his daughter and a house maid.

Ikeji is accused of having carnal knowledge of the two, aged between five and eight years, on April 12 contrary to the provisions of Section 282 of the Penal Code. Police prosecutor Usman Omale said the case was reported at the police station in Kuje by the mother of the victim.

He said that as a result of the rape, the daughter sustained injury in her private part and was taken to Kuje General Hospital for treatment. Omale added that during police investigation, Ikeji confessed committing the crime.

Also, when the charge was read to him, Mr. Ikeji pleaded guilty. The Judge, Babaginda Hassan, thus ruled that the accused be remanded in prison custody till the next hearing.
