Phot: Ghanaian Superstar actress Jackie Appiah celebrates birthday with Cancer patients

She is known for her sultry eyes, endearing smile and amazing acting but what you do not know about Jackie Appiah is that she has a huge heart. The actress celebrated her birthday on December 5, at the Oncology department of the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital in Accra, Ghana. She donated toiletries, drinks and food which put smiles on the faces of the children with cancer.

Jackie Appiah flew back to Ghana from America on the eve of her birthday in order to keep up with what has become her annual ritual of spending her birthday with the less privileged in society.

During her visit to the hospital, she made a cash donation of $1000 towards the upkeep of the patients and stayed at the Hospital to fete with some of the patients.

According to Jackie Appiah, she chose to spend her birthday with the children in the Oncology Department after she joined MNet Africa and fellow movie stars earlier in the year to donate $5000 to the Ghana Parents Association for Childhood Cancers at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital in Ghana.

It’s refreshing that some of our artistes are sharing with the public from the benefits they have accrued over the years. We hope it continues this way and others will join in such charitable acts.
