Chelsea players have reacted to the sacking of their manager, Jose Mourinho, just seven months after lifting the English Premier League winners’ trophy.
News broke on Thursday, December 17, that Mourinho had been relieved of his duties in the Stamford Bridge dugout by mutual agreement and may pocket a staggering £40 million as severance pay.
And the players of the club, in a swift reaction to their manager’s exit, either took to the social media to express their disappointment or stormed out of the club’s training ground after the news was made public.
John Terry, the club captain, was pictured storming out of the training ground, looking rather upset as he refused to say anything concerning Mourinho’s exit.
Diego Costa was also pictured looking devastated as he left the Cobham training ground following the sacking of the manager who took him to England from Atletico Madrid, as Gary Cahill also showed signs of distaste with the latest casualty at the club.
Fellow Spaniard Cesar Azpilicueta was also among players who paid tribute to Mourinho, as they believe the Portuguese would be missed by the club’s stars and fans worldwide.
