The Economic and Finan‎cial Crimes  Commission (EFCC) on Friday interrogated former Governor of ‎Akwa Ibom state Godswill Akpabio over allegation of financial crimes when he was governor.

Daily Trust  gathered that Akpabio honoured an invitation by the anti-graft agency to explain allegations of  looting Akwa Ibom state funds.

Sources told our correspondent that Akpabio was being interrogated late evening at the Abuja head offices of the Commission.

It was also gathered that the EFCC is likely to grant him administrative bail in what is still an ongoing investigation.
