Bruce Jenner's interview with Diane Sawyer: Celebs show support for the star as he confirms gender transformation

When Bruce Jenner finally confirmed his female identity in his blockbuster interview with Diane Sawyer Friday night, the Web world came together to support him.
Dozens of notable names, spanning the realms of reality TV, indie rock, young adult literature and national politics, took to Twitter to cheer on the former Olympian who ended years of speculation by announcing he is transgender.
Some of Jenner's most famous supporters include Ellen DeGeneres, Jimmy Fallon, Oprah Winfrey, Rosie O'Donnell, Miley Cyrus and even Anthony Weiner.
"Sending lots of love and support to #BruceJenner and their family tonight. It is always brave to stand in one's truth. Congrats darling," tweeted "Orange Is The New Black" star Laverne Cox, who is herself transgender.

The overwhelming social media support started even before the interview, with Lady Gaga speaking out for Jenner hours in advance.
"We have the chance to write this moment in history together. Let’s empower people like Bruce all over the world by being loving & not mean," the "Born This Way" singer, an outspoken advocate for LGBT rights, wrote Friday afternoon.
Scores of celebs chimed in once the interview started and many live-tweeted the entire two-hour show.
Minutes into the interview, GLAAD released a statement of solidarity with Jenner, saying his interview "adds another layer to America's understanding of what it means to be transgender."
"Bruce Jenner" immediately became Twitter's top trending topic Friday night, with nearly 400,000 tweets about the show getting posted by the time it finished
