Police detectives in Ogwashi-uku, near Asaba, Delta State, have arrested 12 robbery suspects, and killed four others during a gun battle at the weekend.
Reports said that the robbery suspects were operating along the Ogwashi-uku-ughelli express way.
They specialize in robbing passengers along the Expressway.
It was gathered that when the police got wind of the operation, they immediately moved to the scene and engaged them in gun battle and in the process killed four out of over 22- man gang.
DSP Celestina Kalu, Police Public Relations Officer in the state, who confirmed the arrest of the suspects, disclosed that during the gun battle with the robbers, four of the gang members were killed, while some of those who were arrested sustained injuries.

DSP Kalu said that the police also recovered several items such as six cut to size guns, fetish materials, N4,500 cash adding that the suspects, after investigation would be charged to court. She said that the police have set its dragnet across the community with a view to bringing to book those behind the criminal activities in the community.
