Ex Most Beautiful Girl Nigeria (MBGN) Chinenye Ochuba Akindele turns factory worker

Chinenye was the most beautiful girl in Nigeria 2002 and since her reign ended she has been quietly attending to her new role as wife and mother.
Hearing an ex beauty queen works in a factory is a new one as most of them end up with or one charity organisation or the other and that's where it ends.

I got the tip and the picture and promptly called beautiful Chinenye who agreed she works in a factory....her own factory!

This is what she has to say after the cut

"I have to work too that way my workers know it’s no joke
I can't just sit in my office because my vision can only come to reality through me. My staff see me working, and they know they have to work.
'Aivyedge' (company name)as a company is in my head, I can only show them what I want practically by working with them .

Where is your factory situated and what exactly do you produce?
Our factory is in Surulere, we make very unique plush slippers of very high quality at affordable price. Our clients include hotels, hospitals, spas. They can also be used as souvenirs at parties. We make them according to specifications colour and design open toe and closed toe.

do you get a lot of orders?
Its quite profitable but manufacturing has to do with market share..that's quantity. We get a lot of orders.

Where the idea to start a factory crop up from ?
I have always had the idea but just didn't have the time and space to start up not just starting up a factory but producing something that adds value. Our product adds great value to hotels. Their customers wear them in the hotel, and take them away with them. They wear them in their homes of course we brand the slippers too so customers know it’s from a certain hotel. They actually repeat a visit to that same place because they want another pair.
Setting up a factory to me means I actually produce something that people use, I employ people who are happy to work for me and they acquire skills while working in my factory. This makes me happy.

How are you juggling your work with motherhood duties?
I'm doing very well. I have capable hands helping with the kids while I'm at work. My kids are also a part of my business,  they are at the factory when they're not in school.

Has your hubby been very supportive?
Oh yes he's been extremely supportive. Comes to help whenever he's around.

Thanks for your time responding.
Thank you too.
