The voting process in at least two areas of Gombe State, North-East Nigeria, has been stalled following an attack by suspected Boko Haram insurgents.
Bloomberg news agency quoted a resident, Aminu Kabiru as saying the suspected terrorists in cars and motorcycles started shooting sporadically in Shole.
In Dukku, also in Gombe state, gunmen at about 11:30 a.m. assaulted the town and burnt a police station, a bank and stopped voters from registering, Haruna Duku, a trader, told Bloomberg.
In both places, voters dispersed.
