Bobby Brown will be releasing his first solo album in 14
years on June 5, and he's calling it "The Masterpiece." The R&B
singer of New Edition fame will be releasing the album's lead single
"Don't Let Me Die" this spring.
News of the album shouldn't come as a surprise to Brown fans
as the work follows new tracks "Damaged" and "Get Out The
Way," which were released early last year.
Brown will be making
a slew of television appearances in second half of May on programs ranging from
"Ellen," to "The Tonight Show," "Today" and
"The Wendy Williams Show."
In regards to the
solo project, Brown stated in a press release, "I simply wanted to create
a body of work that will take listeners on a musical journey; the style of
music that will allow people to get in touch with their highs and lows and
their joys and pain of living through song. At the same time, I am hoping to
bridge the gap between good old R&B and R&B of today."
Brown is also making headlines with the news that his
marriage to his fiancée Alicia Etheridge finally has a date. The couple has
been engaged for two years and welcomed a baby boy Cassius in 2009. According
to TMZ, the pair will be tying the knot in Honolulu while Brown is on tour with
New Edition.
