Nollywood Superstar actress Genevive Nnaji, moves her aged parents from Egbeda to Lekki, Lagos state

 

Star actress, Genevieve Nnaji is putting a broad smile on the faces of her aged parents and siblings. She has just moved them from Egbeda, a Lagos suburb to highbrow and upscale Lekki, Lagos. Her dad and mum in their late 60s and 70s respectively, according to sources close to the family were full of excitement about the move.

Genevieve, according to the source had in recent time found it challenging to check on her parents due to distance, besides, she felt her dad who could hardly walk due to old age on his own would be closer to her and receive adequate medical care. On few occasions that she has visited, fans, especially boisterous school children had swarmed her.

A House of Representative's wife accused of torturing two women

·        Wife of a serving House of Representatives member was fingered yesterday in the torture, beating and alleged attempt to kidnap two ladies in Isale Eko area of Lagos.

Sources say that yesterday morning at about 7.15a.m, a Toyota Camry car which was used for the operation caused a stir in Bamgbose Street in Lagos Island at the heart of Lagos metropolis.

Like a bolt from the blue, six unidentified ladies, carrying canes came out of the unregistered grey coloured car and advanced towards No 101, Bamgbose Street.

·        The unmasked ladies met one Alhaja Basidat Ajadi Balogun, a business woman resident in the street and repeatedly flogged her as she wept. (The woman pictured above)

Woman burns son's face and stabs him on the head for stealing soup

A 25 year old petty trader has been arrested by police in Ibeju Lekki for allegedly burning her 6 year old son's face for going into their neighbour's home and licking their soup.

Not only did Sakirat Attah burn her son's face with hot iron after the neighbour reported her son to her, she also used a broken bottle to stab young Daniel in the head.

Sakirat took her son into their one room apartment after finding out what he did, locked the door, lit a stove, put an iron spoon on it to get hot and used it to burn his face and hands as punishment. And when that wasn't enough, she broke a bottle and stabbed him in the head, leaving a deep cut. Daniel later told police he stole the soup because he was hungry.

Neighbours who heard the little boy screaming for help entered the room and rescued him from the mother. They rushed him to the hospital and called the police on the mum.

Shakirat Attah has been charged before an Igbosere Magistrate’s Court in Lagos on a one count charge of assaulting a minor occasioning bodily harm. She's currently in Kirikiri Prison, pending when she  fulfills her bail conditions. I hope the woman rots in jail

Lebanese man arrested for kidnap

 

A 23 year old Lebanese man has been arrested by police in Lagos for kidnapping his 61 year old aunt, Alhaja Essa Dannawi. Mohammed Dannawi (pictured above) conspired with a former employee of his aunt, Obi Kwentua, (pictured above) to kidnap the woman on May 2nd at her home in Ebute Meta, Lagos.

Mohammed, who later confessed to the crime, told police during interrogation that he didn't kidnap his aunt because of money but to punish her because she offended him and his wife. He said:

“My aunty did something very bad to my wife and I and so I decided to punish her. I met with Obi (Kwentua) and told him that I wanted my aunty kidnapped. I gave him the spare key to her house and he in turn hired some boys to do the work. On the day of the operation, I left the house and five guys stormed the place and took my aunty away. The plan was not to demand money from her, it was just punishment"

After the kidnapping, the kidnappers demanded N100m ransom from the woman's family but later agreed to collect N4m. It was during negotiations with the kidnappers that Mohammed confessed to being behind the kidnap and with his co-operation the police were able to arrest one of the suspects, Obi Kwentua when he came to collect the N4million ransom from relatives of the victim at Rita Lori Hotel in Surulere.

Essa Dannawi was later released while Mohammed and Kwentua were arrested.

The big headed fool that was involved in the bizarre beheading of a British Soldier yesterday 22nd of May, is said to be of a Nigerian origin by the name Micheal Adebolajo. He was born in Lambeth in South London and grew up in East London and attended North Greeenwich University.

Hmmm na wahh, not condoning what he did in anyway, but I guess if he had won gold in some sporting event or if he had done Britain proud they would have called him A  British man, but because of the nature of what he has done, he is now A Nigerian British born. Hmmmmm. I zip my lips shaa. Let justice prevail ohh.

Video: A man beheaded in suspected terrorist attack in Woolwich, South East of London( Viewer discretion is warned, video could be disturbing)

A British soldier was beheaded Wednesday on a London street in a “sickening and barbaric” attack by a pair of machete-wielding jihadists, officials and witnesses said.

The brazen and heinous slaying occurred in broad daylight in front of stunned witnesses, who said the attackers screamed “Allah Akbar.” British Prime David Cameron Cameron said the atrocity appeared to be “terror-related.”

 With his hands soaked in blood, one of the attackers was filmed on the street right after the attack and made a chilling claim of responsibility.

"We swear by Almighty Allah we will never stop fighting you,” said the attacker, wearing a black watchcap and holding the bloody machete in his left hand. “The only reason we have done this is because Muslims are dying every day. This British soldier is an eye for an eye a tooth for tooth.”

23 year old Blessing Ikhumhi, a student of Edo State School of Health Technology was bathed with acid by her ex-boyfriend Cyril Okosun after she ended things with him.

According to the story by Guardian, On March 23rd 2013, Cyril asked to speak with Blessing after she ended their relationship and thinking he wanted to talk reconciliation, she agreed to see him. He visited her house and as she went out to talk to him, he bathed her with acid.

Blessing is now blind in both eyes and battling to stay alive at the University of Benin Teaching Hospital (UBTH), Benin City where she is a patient.

Five men arrested for selling body part from corps they exhumed from their graves

The Lagos State Police Command has arrested five men for allegedly exhuming corpses and selling their parts for ritual purposes.

According to police authorities, the suspects –, Jamiu Adeleke, Ajibade Rafiu, Fatai Akiwowo, Kazeem Sanni and Agboola Kolawole – had at different times sold human parts in Owode, Ogun State.

The Police Public Relations Officer, Lagos State Command, Ngozi Braide, said Adeleke was arrested by the police and through his confession, were able to apprehend the others.

She said, “On May 15, 2013, Adeleke was arrested by operatives of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad while he was trying to sell human hands for N21,000. Upon interrogation, he confessed that he bought the parts from Sanni at the cost of N6,000.

A con man was jailed for 7 years for stealing £170,000 from women on a dating Website

A conman who duped a string of women into falling for him and handing over more than £170,000 after he met them on a website for ‘sugar daddies’ was jailed for seven years today.

Jonathan Price, 41, posed as a wealthy businessman, weaving a tissue of lies including that he was an ex-SAS man, and that he was a friend of the late, exiled Russian oligarch Boris Berezovsky.

He also claimed to have a home in the exclusive Sandbanks area, where football boss Harry Redknapp lives.

Woman bares her breast in hunger protest at court premises in Lagos State Nigeria

In a desperate attempt to draw attention to her misfortune, Esther Odozi, 21, bared her breasts on Monday on the premises of Ikeja Magistrate’s Court as she protested against hunger that was “killing her and the five children” she left back home in Agbor Owanta, Delta State.

Odozi laid half-naked on a road in the court shouting, “Hunger, hunger. Government must do something today. I have not received anything from the plenty crude oil money government is spending in our state. Nigerians are wicked.”

Army arrests suspected orange-seller undercover agent for Boko Haram with Six hundred million in his bank account

The General Officer Commanding (GOC), 1 Division Nigerian Army, Kaduna, Major-General Garba Wahab, at the weekend said the media should not eulogize criminals as the Division has arrested a suspected orange seller who spied for terrorists and over N600 million was found in his bank account within three months.

The GOC, whose area of command covers the north-western states, while fielding questions from newsmen in Kaduna relating to why the Army is carrying out general search without discrimination, said, “When we stop those who are hawking and carrying wheelbarrow, and we said we want to check, people will shout, ‘Why are you disturbing the average person?’ And I give you example; we arrested somebody here called mai lemu (orange seller) in Kawo here. And in three months when we checked through his account, over 600 million naira has passed through that man’s account, and he sells orange here by Kawo bridge.

“He is there as a lookout. He is like a spy. He looks around, gets information and feeds these guys, says this is what is happening. That is why I said we are not dealing with idiots. We are dealing with people who have one or two guys working and thinking, and giving them information. And we know that before they attack they must look at the softest locations.”
Wahab added that it is a criminality that the media and society must cooperate and ensure that it is brought to an end.
