University of Portharcout, shut down as student attack Umuokiri Aluu, where the 4 students were murdered, at least 12 houses where set ablaze

At least 12 houses have been set ablaze at Omuokiri-Aluu by angry Nigerian students who descended the small village in their hundreds on the eveing of Tuesdar 9th september 2012 protesting the violent murder of four students. UNIPORT students were mobilised by students of other universities under the umbrella of the National Association of Nigerian Students, NANS. The students blocked major roads in Port Harcourt before moving to Aluu but fortunately for the indigenes, they were all gone before the students got there. I saw it on TV, the whole village was deserted, not even goats or chickens were seen anywhere. So they value their own lives?

Meanwhile, the spokesman of the school revealed this evening that the university has been shut down indefinitely.

A message from D'banj to the murdered Uniport Students

Picture of D'banj

They were my brothers…and yours.
Four days ago, I woke up to yet another unspeakable tragedy.

Four young men, all undergraduates, brimming with great dreams, unfulfilled aspirations and a promising future were killed. To express the depth of my pain and shock at their murder is impossible. And understanding how events could have degenerated to this level is truthfully beyond me.

Lloyd, Ugo, Tekana and Chidiaka

Four promising young men whose lives were interwoven in one way or the other with yours and mine.

I mourn deeply with the families of these young men because this is OUR collective loss. They were our colleagues, our classmates, our neighbors, our brothers… our friends.

We are NOT a nation of barbarians. We CAN follow due processes and procedures. We MUST fight together as ONE NATION to ensure that Justice as a whole is served, and as a PROCESS, is duly followed-ALWAYS.

We can only try to make meaning of this senseless tragedy by ensuring that this WILL not happen again, by affirming that the pursuit of justice does not in any way entitle any of us to the willful elimination of other people’s lives and by ensuring that we, as youths, do not destroy the honorable mantle placed on us as the future of our nation, by eliminating our present.

Aluu 4 and Mubi 40, Rest In Perfect Peace.
God Bless Nigeria

Very promising,  handsome, young boys, with very very bright future, they never ever believed they will meet their death in such a cruel manner. When you think of the pains they passed through from the beatings they recieved from those monsters, planking them and stoning them, the agony, the fear, the pains these young men passed through and finally they were burnt alive, think of how they will be crying and begging for their lives, how sad, how touching and then imagine how their beloved family and friends are feeling right now, these sad memories will live with them for the rest of their lives.
Look at the picture of Lloyd Michael's parents, look at his dad, look at the mum, think of the heartbreak, a heartbreak that will never be mended, the only way to make them feel good is to get justice for them. There must be some one that knows those monsters, or seen them some how, some where please my good people, lets help fight for justice for these boys, at least let there souls rest in peace. Please well meaning Nigerians, do whatever you can let's expose those monsters, it could be any of us tomorrow. It's high time we stamp out jungle justice in Nigeria.

Is Ini Edo's marriage having a hard time ???

If what gossip mongers are revealing to Nigeriafilms.com is anything to go by, then all may not be too well in the marriage of reportedly pregnant Nollywood actress, Ini Edo and her husband of four years, Philip Ehiagwina.
What an olofofo, who claimed to be close to Ini Edo divulged to Nigeriafilms.com seems very disturbing. Some gossip merchants swore that he (Philip) depends on the sultry actress to survive.
The latest that we are hearing about the couple, who attended a fashion show in the US together recently, is that there is an alleged crack in their four years old marriage.

Nollywood actress Rukky Sanders hits back at critics who says she does bleaching and plastic surgery

“I’m light o, and I’m going to do everything I have to maintain my complexion. If they like they should call it bleaching or washing, whatever they want to call it. Me and my cream, we are best buddies. Whatever they want to say, they should continue. Me I am making money. When nobody is talking about you, then you are not doing something right.
In Nigeria, they don’t even know what a face lift is. It is when your skin starts to sag, they lift it up around your temples and cut the excess one off. How old am I that I would need a face lift? Someone said I had a lipo and dermabrasion. OK, I’ve done everything, I’ve even done the one they’ve not yet said.”

Rukky before and now. Look at the picture above very well and be the judge .

Elkanah Tekena, one of the 4 Uniport students bunrt to death buried in the forest, says family

The coverage of the brutality and viscous violence endured by Ugonna, Llyod, Elkannah and Chidiaka- all students of the University of Port Harcourt- has reached a crescendo with people from all walks of life condemning the savage brutality that led to their deaths.
Cruise Nigeria has been keeping tabs on the aftermath of the barbaric act and has spoken to a family member of Elkannah Tekena who explained how still shocked and horrified the entire family is.

Video of untold sufferings, the 4 Uniport students passed through before they died

This is pure wickedness, typical example of man's inhumanity to man, even the animals we kill for food gets more respect before they are killed. Everyday we point fingers at our leaders accusing them of gross misconduct and yet most Nigerians are still barbaric, naive and ignorance, how can we move the country forward when things like this are still happening. Please let us the well meaning Nigeria stand up tall and find Justice for these 4 in any way we can. If you know anyone from this video, please alert the police as soon as possible. They must be made to pay for this inhuman act so other barbaric fools will learn.

Latest news on the 4 University of Porthacourt students that were burnt to death

! It is  can confirmed to that the Chief of Aluu community has been arrested and is in police custody. Some people I have been in touch with got the info from the Rivers State Commissioner of Police. There are also reports that at least 12 others have been arrested and more arrests will be made in the coming days.

Meanwhile, the deputy registrar of University of Port Harcourt, Williams Modi, said the school will issue a statement once they get all the facts - I.e, the true identities of the victims and what actually transpired on the day of the reported incident.

This is a Tweet from Ibim Semenitari, the River state commissioner of Information

Also, I heard that residents of the community have started fleeing the area to avoid being arrested. Please continue...

Before I broke the story on Friday, I spoke with three different UNIPORT students, one of them my cousin (he was the one who sent the story to me) and they all said the same thing. That the Aluu community said they killed these boys because they stole. I asked the students what the victims supposedly stole, and they said - the people who killed them said they stole phones and laptops. That was why I made that my headline...

But since then, we've heard different versions of what happened on that early Friday morning...different versions! Below is another one...which suggests the boys didn't steal the phones and laptop but took it by force...

12 suspects arrested in the killing of 4 University of Portharcourt students

There are reports that twelve people have been arrested in the Aluu Community where four students of the University of Port Harcourt (UNIPORT) were on Friday killed. The students names were given as Ugonna, Ilyod, Tekana and Chidiaka.
The four students were killed by a mob for allegedly stealing a laptop and high-end smartphones.
The police had earlier promised to arrest the perpetrators of the crime urging the youth of the university community not to take laws into their hands.
The Rivers State commissioner for Information, Ibim Semenitari tweeted at 4.22pm today from her  handle (@ibimtoby) “PH government is outraged. The Governor has ordered investigations and already some arrests have been made.”
The Rivers Police Public Relations officer (PPRO), Ben Ugwuegbulam, a deputy superintendent of Police (DSP), in a telephone interview confirmed that four persons were killed on Friday at Aluu for allegedly  stealing, but could not ascertain if the victims were students of UNIPORT or not.

4 University of Port Harcourt students beaten and burnt to death for stealing Black berry phones and Lap Tops

Four University of Port Harcourt students named Ugonna, Ilyod, Tekana and Chidiaka were  beaten  and burnt to death by indigence of Aluu community for allegedly stealing phones and laptops in an off campus hostel...

Instead of calling the police and getting them arrested, people of this community beat these students who were not even armed until they stopped breathing. Then they took pictures, filmed it and spread it around. This happened  in PH. We are gradually losing our humanity in this country. The boys were all in their early 20s. I hope some people get arrested for this. More photos after the cut...*viewer discretion advised*
